Banded Binoculars
Any explorer worth their salt has a powerful curiosity and a trusty looking device. Lucky for your mini-Magellan, a pair of binoculars is just a craft, skip and a jump away.
What to have handy:
- 3 toilet paper rolls per set of binoculars
- Scissors
- Hole punch
- Hot glue gun/glue
- Washi tape
- Yarn or ribbon
Step 1: Punch a hole toward the end of 2 rolls.
Step 2: Cut a 30-inch length of ribbon or yarn. Thread an end through each hole punch and tie a knot.
Step 3: Time to customize the binoculars to your explorer’s liking. Wrap the Washi tape around the rolls in different patterns and bands.
Step 4: Cut what will be the connecting piece from the end of an undecorated roll.
Step 5: Hold the rolls together and hot glue an end of the connecting piece to either side. Let the glue dry.
Step 6: Time to look at the world with fresh eyes.
